IN-HOME BREASTFEEDING CONSULTATION

Lactation, Feeding & Nutritional Assessments

First Visit: $250

Subsequent Visits: $200

($50 surcharge for twins)

Travel fees apply

Up to 2 hours, in your home, including:

​

  • Comprehensive history of mother, baby, and feeding patterns​

​​

  • Milk transfer gauged with a digital breastfeeding scale​

​​

  • Infant exam, including suckle and latch evaluation and oral anatomy assessment

​

  • Breast exam and teaching related to breast care and wellness

​

  • Maternal nutritional assessment, support and resourcing

​

  • Counseling on infant physiology, emotional states, and sleep patterns​

​

  • Written care plan and a written report to your doctor or midwife

​

  • A “Superbill” to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement (Lactation services provided by an IBCLC are covered under the Affordable Care Act)

​

  • Support with pumping and/or returning to work​

​

  • Transitioning to solid foods while breastfeeding

​

  • Includes 1 week of unlimited email/text follow-up

Highly recommended for an optimal start to breastfeeding & preparation for life with your newborn

Allows you a $50 discount on your postpartum visits

​

Up to 2 hours, in your home, including:

​

  • Preparation for breastfeeding and discussion of your history (perhaps you had some or a lot of difficulty breastfeeding before) and how to anticipate your next breastfeeding or chest-feeding experience

​

  • Discussion of the PHYSIOLOGIC and PSYCHOLOGIC needs of postpartum women/parents, babies and families

​

  • Creation of an individualized postpartum care plan for you and your family

​

  • Discussion of basics like positioning, latch, babies’ cues, feeding frequency and establishing a good milk supply from the start​

​

  • Guidance and education regarding infant emotional states (attachment, crying, sleep patterns)​

 

  • Healing, both physical and emotional, in preparation to give birth again

​

  •  Includes 1 week of follow-up questions via email/text

​

  • Discussion of basics like positioning, latch, babies’ cues, feeding frequency and establishing a good milk supply from the start​

​

  • Guidance and education regarding infant emotional states (attachment, crying, sleep patterns, etc.)​

 

  • Social-emotional support for the early postpartum period 

​

  • Includes 1 week of unlimited email/text follow-up
